Trip to Ketkavale

After a break of a month courtesy sheer inertia on my part as well as minor issues with my Dahon, the last one month has been great for my cycling routine.
First off was the trip to Ketkavale. Mr Ethape ( the CA), my acquaintance from the trip with the Khalsa's group, calls me to ask if I was game for a trip to Ketkavale( where the Balaji Temple is located) followed by a visit to Anikhet's farm where lunch was organized. This was too good to be missed, specially the visit to the farm.
The group assembled on theSinhagad flyover at 0645am. By that time I had already spent good 20 min shivering and praying that the guys come fast. Thereafter it was the usual slow grind to Katraj Tunnel. The first halt point was at the Toll Naka. Here Ethape and Sapkal decided that they were bold enough to show their legs in cycling shorts - so both did a quick striptease and off came the trousers in broad daylight!

Trousers on!

Now Trousers OFF!

Did a Photo session at the entry to Narayanpur road.

we reached Balaji temple shortly afterwards.Being a Sunday and the New years first day there was a large gathering of faithfuls at the temple. We decided to follow the universal Truth of " God is within us" and did our obeisance from the doorway and admired the structure while sitting on the steps.

After some time  we headed for Anikhets farm. He met us on the highway and then led us to the farm which was on the road parallel to Narayanpur road, a couple of km before it.

it was a pretty large farm with two small typical village houses housing the caretakers.

The lineup : Anikhet, Raj, Anikhets friend, Varad, Ethape, Sapkal 'n self

We then went on a tour of the farm led by Aniket and his mother. First we were plucking shoots of gram plants for they make a great veg dish. This was followed by harvesting a species of beans.

We took a small break in an open shed in the farm, where Raj made the best possible use to the bullock cart!

After an hour in the farm we headed back to the huts for a typical lunch: Bhakri, vangi(baingan) and pithla.

The bhakri was just fabulous while the rest was spicy! My expression says it all!
Soon after the lunch we started back to base.
It was an excellent outing all thanks to the young man below
